Graduate Recruitment Consultancy & Agency Jobs

recruitment

Recruitment Consultancy

Start salary: £22,000 - £26,000
Professional salary: £36,000-£60,000
Required qualifications: A good 2:1 degree in any discipline for graduate schemes and entry-level positions. Recruitment consultancies often don't operate schemes, so check their website and other specialised websites for vacancies.
Jobs available: Over 108,000 are employed in recruitment roles, according to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.*

Recruitment consultancies range from the high-street brands like Adecco and Office Angels to enourmous multinational recruitment companies such as Hayes which place hundreds of thousands of applicants every year for both temp and permanent roles. In between there are 'head-hunter' agencies which recruit specialised individuals for highly specific roles for anything from research and academic positions to chairman of a FTSE 100 company.
Recruitment can prove a very lucrative career choice - especially at the high end - as you will get a commission which is often based on the salary of the individual that you place. You'll have to have great networking and people skills, the hard-hitting mentality of a sales-person, a good eye for detail (for checking through all those CV's) and a good memory so you can link CV's with jobs at a moments notice.
