Real World Push
  • The Push National Student Debt Survey was published last week

The Push Student Debt Survey is the most detailed annual analysis of students' financial position, involving face-to-face interviews with over 2,000 students at 139 university campuses throughout the UK.

This year the survey found that student debt now tops £5,600 for each year of study. The inflation-busting increase of 5.4% may in part be down to availability of part-time and temporary jobs during the recession.

As the UK's largest survey of student finance, we have received national press coverage accross print and broadcast.

'The Push Student Debt survey found those beginning degrees this October would on average be saddled with £24,700 of debt by the time they finished their courses - £1,500 more than students now in their first year of university'. The Guardian, Friday 13 August 2010. Read full article.

'The annual survey of 2,000 UK students for university guide Push also found average yearly debt had increased by 5.4% to £5,600 per year of study'. BBC News, Friday 13 August 2010. Read full article

  • The launch of the Recruiters Guide to Courses & Campuses research

The RGCC is the definitive guide for employers, helping them to target campus recruitment activity more accurately and gain a clearer understanding of the graduate recruitment marketplace.

The RGCC's statistical analysis is based on over 25 million pieces of raw data supplied by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), covering 20 different subject areas across 125 universities. Among other data, the RGCC includes the A-level entry grades and degree classifications broken down for each university and each course, as well as further breakdowns by gender, ethnicity, disability, age, socio-economic background and region.

How can the RGCC help you?
Leading employers rely on the RGCC's research to know exactly where and how to target their activity to achieve their objectives, delivering better results, saving time, money and effort in the process.

The RGCC Report helps to answer questions such as:

  • Which courses and universities attract the highest performing students?
  • Which courses and universities produce the 'best' graduates?
  • Are women outperforming men - and if so, where and by how much?
  • Which universities are most ethnically diverse and what trends are there in terms of courses studied?
  • To what extent does a 2:1 or better mark out the best candidates?
  • Which universities offer the best graduates in different subject areas?
