Think You Could be a Guardian Winner?

Entry is now open for the Guardian Student Media Awards 2010.

The annually held competition seeks to celebrate the best Writers, Editors and Broadcasters working on student publications in the UK. A spokesperson for the Guardian
said: "We believe it is essential to recognise student media and have been celebrating
the achievements of students for more than 30 years." This year sees the introduction of a new award. The 'Digital Journalist of the Year' alongside established categories celebrating Photographers, Editors,Writers and Broadcasters, is open to bloggers and twitterers. Past winners of the awards have gone on to great success in the industry and
the entries this year are expected to be of very high quality. Past winner, bestselling novelist and onetime columnist for the Guardian, Emily Barr said of winning the awards: "It had a huge impact on my career, because the prize was 4 weeks' work experience at the
Guardian, which I did in the summer hols between my second and third years." Among this year's judges are Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow and Krissi Murison, Editor of the NME. The closing date for entries is Friday 3rd July.
