Jobs available: The sector employs 1,414,000 people and according to a 2010 labour survey the amount of jobs has fallen by -4.6% compared to the level in 2008.*

Logistics and Transport covers a wide range of careers, involving all kinds of transport from freight (logistics) and people (transport) to aviation, rail, bus, coach, maritime, van, car, and heavy goods vehicle. Specialists are needed in all areas such as transport planning, supply chain, procurement and warehousing.
There are numerous graduate careers available in this sector, and there has been a rise in the intake of female graduates. The London 2012 Olympics will be a major logistical event to organise, and graduates are already being recruited for this in advance.
