Enetrprise Feautured Employer

We might be an international car rental company with a multi-billion pound turnover. But more importantly, we're an industry-leading business that knows what to do with your talent. We don't want to nurture your expertise with a kettle or foster a positive working relationship between you and the photocopier. Why do that when we can teach you how to run a business and introduce you to senior level management? FEATURED EMPLOYER

Company Scope
The Summer Placement scheme is a 6-8 weeks work placement that runs across July and August. It is open to undergraduates and graduates who are disabled with the aim of introducing trainees to the interesting and varied challenges across the UK Civil Service.

Trainees are placed in a wide range of Government Departments and undertake the type of work that Fast Streamers do. Through the scheme, trainees are able to further develop the skills and abilities required for the Fast Stream.

By the end of the placements, trainees discover a great deal about the role of the Civil Service, and about the relationships between Parliament and Civil Service departments. With a real insight into the Civil Service work and training behind them, the intention is that trainees are fairly equipped with the knowledge of what the Civil Service is about and an understanding of the role of Fast Streamers.

This will enable trainees to feel confident and assured of their abilities to apply to the Fast Stream. Trainees currently receive a weekly allowance of a minimum of £285 in London and £245 elsewhere. Departments will not be able to provide funding for travel and accommodation, but they will try and assist trainees (where possible) to find somewhere to stay, if required.

If you have specific areas of interest, we will ensure that you are placed with a relevant government department that will give you the exposure and insight. Whichever department you are placed in, we will ensure that you will receive good training and development.

Please note that placements do not lead to permanent employment.

Due to a limited number of placements we will not accept applications from previous successful Summer Placement Scheme alumni.
