The Role
The IDS Project Management team manage a large variety of projects on behalf of RM?s clients and RM. They range in value from £100,000 up to £20 million. The Project Manager?s purpose is to manage major or complex projects and liase with Sales/Bid teams on the proposals and tenders, effectively acting as the customer?s champion in RM, striving to get them the solution they want and when they want it. From RM?s point of view, the Project Manager is responsible for delivering the project within budget and with maximising customer satisfaction. Responsibilities - Defining and sizing projects - Producing cost elements and project plans - Producing material for bids, proposals and tender responses - Risk assessment, risk costs and risk mitigation strategies - Using RM methodology to control projects (based on PRINCE 2) - Delivering projects to time and budget - Ensuring compliance to CDM and Health & Safety regulations Why is this a great opportunity? It?s a chance to be a big part of managing a strategic bid, from bid stage through to implementation of major projects, for example broadband installation for an LEA or a roll-out programme of RM products and services to schools. We are also keen to support further study and would expect you to take the PRINCE2 qualification within your first couple of years. Qualifications & Experience A 2:1 or first class honours degree in an IT, Engineering, Science or Business related subject. 240 UCAS tariff points or equivalent . In addition you will have: - Strong analytical and numerical skills - Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken - The ability to work in cross-functional teams - The ability to demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills in relation to product development, sales and service delivery - Evidence of team working, and a tenacious attitude is desirable Preferred experience will include: - Relevent work experience - Evidence of planning and organising - Practical use of common IT applications - Previous experience in a customer facing role |
