What really matters to you?
Graduates are increasingly thinking with their hearts as well as their heads when it comes to their job search - which is where the idea of an ethical career comes in. In essence, this involves incorporating your personal principles and values into your job.
Many people associate this type of career with the non-profit sector, in particular with voluntary work. But you don't have to work for free - or compromise your earning potential - to purse an ethical career.
There are a wide number of disciplines, from engineering to marketing, IT to arts, which lend themselves to a career with a conscience. Making a difference to people and planet doesn't even necessarily mean steering clear of the multinationals.
With the public's growing interest in ethical affairs, from Fairtrade to carbon emissions, many large companies are looking at ways to improve their record on social responsibility - and they need people to help them achieve this.
