The rankings on this page are the result of a global survey of 31,000 students and graduates, looking at what they want from online application processes and which company are giving it to them.
It might not seem it when you’re filling in the boxes and uploading a CV but an online application on the employer’s website is the UK graduate’s favourite way to apply for a job. The companies shown here are those that have made the process work in a way that suits graduates, whether it’s Mars with their update-friendly online profile or Roche’s commitment to being really quick and easy to use. Nobody’s going to apply for a job just because the application process is well-designed but there’s a lot to be learned from the top employers that are also a dab hand at getting graduates on board. The application process is, after all, where ‘what the employer wants to know’ meets ‘what the graduate has to say’.
If, for example, one online application process asks all about your hobbies but none of the others do, why not see if there’s a way to give some of that information to employers via a different channel. As long as it’s relevant, employers will want to know, but they might not know that they haven’t asked.
